SM and Boys’ High School criticized after Aespa’s sexual harassment by students Soompi

This is very dangerous.

On May 2, the aespa went to Kyungbock High School, a boys’ high school, to perform there, a rite of passage for the idols of SM Entertainment as it is the school where the agency leader in his youth.

However, the girls’ passing in high school was rather poor. In fact, the photos were posted after the event, photos that especially upset the fans of the girl group.

From the photos and videos, it can be seen that SM Entertainment did not send any security guards for the girls. In many of the pictures, we can see the girls walking in the middle of the students, not hesitating to approach them closely.

Similarly, during their performance, the students went up on the stage to take selfies with the girls, again without any security interference.

Apparently, SM Entertainment and the school were widely criticized after that, and they are all blaming the school and the agency for not protecting the aespa members.

This continued later when several students posted pictures of the day with derogatory comments towards the girls, noting in particular that they had managed to touch them or make remarks on their body.

To give you some examples of things some of these students posted on social media:

“My girlfriends are here… their bodies are so sexy”
I did everything except to touch them.

Subsequently, an official statement was posted on the school’s website to apologize, but also to indicate that the insulting posts and sexual harassment suffered by the aespa would be due to strangers entering the school, not high school students.

In this press release, the following can be read:

“Today, a celebration of the school’s 101st anniversary was organized by the Kyungbock Alumni Association in our auditorium. Idol group aespa was invited to perform at the ceremony. However, after the event, there were reports and events that unilaterally damaged the reputation of aespa and SM Entertainment. So we would like to apologize first.

However, after a survey of our students at the school as a result of media reports, it was determined that some outside individuals not affiliated with our school had visited the site and we were not allowed to enter for security reasons. Thus, we can conclude that malicious comments posted on the Internet are not true.

However, after today’s event, we would once again like to apologize to SM Entertainment and aespa for harming their reputations.”

A few hours later, the school found itself in turmoil again. In fact, it was revealed that an SMS the school sent to all students and their parents is an SMS that explains that the school is simply asking students who have posted sexually offensive and harassing posts to delete it so that the school is out of danger.

In this short message, we can read:

Emergency Notice – Request to remove all content related to aespa performance

There was an aespa performance for the 101st anniversary of Kyungbock High School. However, there are suggestive photos, videos and messages posted on our students’ SNS accounts. This is a case in which we can be held legally responsible. We would like all of you to immediately remove all posts and published content related to their performance.

If this escalates in the press, the Ministry of Education will receive many complaints.

Parents, please direct your students to do what is required.”

Unsurprisingly, the school was subsequently heavily criticized after this revelation, and the statement of apology was deleted from the school’s website.

However, the fans did not quit, and the school in the name of SM Entertainment is still the target of heavy criticism.
