The Mavs crush the jazz in Game 5 and take back the advantage

The Mavericks were to be expected after the crazy ending of a Game 4 match that Mitchell-Joubert’s husband wrapped up in Oops Alley. Thus Mark Cuban’s protectors showed that they recovered well by dominating discussions in this one-sided game 5 to regain the upper hand in the series (3-2).

After an impressive break from Dwight Powell in the first quarter, then baskets signed on Spencer Dinwiddy and Jalen Bronson to take the lead (24-18), in the second quarter, Dallas took off, at 12-0 brilliantly led by Luca Doncic, with three consecutive baskets including 2 + 1 (52-32).

At +16 at the break (52-36), Jason Kidd’s men could see it coming and quickly drove the point home, this time with a 14-0 started by Jalen Bronson at 3 points in which Luka Doncic once again shone for the title (79-46) .

This time the damage was done. Having conceded as many as 33 points, Utah lost 102-77 at the end of the final season marked by a squabble born of high-altitude friction between Hasan Whiteside and Luka Doncic, who began diving on the axle, as well as an injury to Donovan Mitchell, exited from the finish with four minutes.

What to remember

– Luka Doncic confirms. The playmaker has recovered really well from a calf injury. Two days into his impressive comeback in Game 4, the Slovenian confirmed by introducing a new full match, with plenty of activity over the two rounds that brought down Utah. He even wanted to pay Hassan Whiteside for a dipping sticker, an indication that he found his legs on fire!

Donovan Mitchell injury. Utah had a really bad night, ending with Donovan Mitchell, hitting his hamstring and out with four minutes remaining, visibly suffering in his left leg on his way back to the locker room. Very bad news as the most important game of the season comes at home.

Tops / swings

Luka Doncic. Confirmation match for the Texas leader who ignited the Mavericks demonstration with his wits. 33 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists on arrival, and the match ended with the best +/- of his team (+32).

Galen Bronson. The captain is in the process of achieving a series of playoffs in line with his good season. The main offensive threat behind Luka Doncic, he also lit up the beautiful match of his team by ending the match with 24 points and 4 assists.

Mike Conley. Still transparent, while Bojan Bogdanovic was missing (0/9) and Donovan Mitchell was still clumsy (4/15). The jazz leader goes through this chain like a ghost.
