Hawks – Heat: Trae Young snatches Game 3 at the end of the suspense!

“We know the game will never end until the red light is on and the clock goes to zero.” That sentence by Ja Morant after the Minnesota Grizzlies “come back” the previous day took on a special resonance in Atlanta tonight, where the Hawks were on the brink of 0-3 after calculating up to 16 points in the third quarter. and finally managed to finish the match strong to snatch victory and survive the series against the Heat.

Nate Macmillan’s forces first had to do what was necessary to survive after the onset of the Heat whirlwind, led by the Herro-Butler-Adebayo trio (12-20). Atlanta had the advantage of not diving from the start, gradually returning through Bogdan Bogdanovich and Kevin Hurter to return to equality and then Dillon Wright, author of two baskets in a row, to dominate (37-31).

Atlanta was the highlight of the turn, 10-0 marked by two (very) two baskets from Young’s husband Bogdanovic (49-38) and it was up to the Heat to limit the damage before the break. Then Max Strauss and Tyler Hero got the Florida team back to -7 in break time (61-54). Even this run that completely changed the course of the meeting.

It was already through the past 21-0 in the middle of the third quarter that the Heat confirmed their return to action, with a series of good sequences in defense that generated easy attacks, including the three points from the Lowry-Strus tandem, PJ Tucker baskets, Max dunks Strus in transition and Tyler Herro (68-84) mode.

In turn, the Hawks had to gather their last strength to prolong the suspense, between De’Andre Hunter’s 3D pointers, Trae Young’s 2+1 and his lofted pass for Delon Wright to bring the locals back under the bar by 10 points 12 minutes from the end (77- 85).

Little by little the locals then managed to catch up, on the exploits of Bogdan Bogdanovic behind the bow and Tra Young, the 3-point equalizer at 104-104, not forgetting the three Onyeka Onkongwu baskets including 2+1 to put his team ahead ( 107-104). Three throws by Jimmy Butler and PJ Tucker in the corner put Miami back in front at the start of the last minute (109-110).

The final word finally went to Trae Young, who scored the transition winning floater while Jimmy Butler will miss his last two attempts, letting victory slip at the end of the thrill (111-110).

What to remember

Young tucker duel. PJ Tucker helped curb Trae Young who was still struggling for most of the first three quarters. But in the final, the Hawks regained their luster by finding a 3-point distance and going 2+1 in the nose and beard of the NBA champion. PJ Tucker finally had a laugh by scoring his team’s last basket from his garden. But Trae Young finally answered him to snatch victory. Long live the sequel!

Falcon care. After receiving 18 nets and then 19 ball losses in their first two matches, the Hawks knew they had to rectify the situation at this point and succeeded in their game on this side. Even if the meeting is played at no charge, players at Nate McMillan can be satisfied with their more interest in the ball with 11 “only” turns on arrival. Such a tight match is also played on small details, and with the right defense in place at the right time, this was one.

Postponed match. Due to a suspicious package, the start of the meeting was delayed for more than half an hour. All onlookers remained outside while the demining team carried out searches. The result: in between, 20,000 spectators weren’t in their places yet.

– Kyle Lowry was injured. The hamstring heat point guard was injured. Same injury as Devin Booker. We don’t know yet how long he’s not been around.

tops/swings

Young Bogdanovic duo. The former was able to find solutions to have an impact once again in scoring and finally scoring the winning basket. And sometimes the second would hold his team an arm’s length away, especially when he had to row back for the game between the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth.

The Wright-Okongwu الثنائي duo. Two X-factors in the evening, with Delon Wright’s 6/6 shots and relays that were like a breath of fresh air for the Hawks, and 4/4 for Onyeka Okongwu playing a tricky but galloping role in Clint Capela as captain, also had a strong influence in the The amazing Atlanta final. Better two hawks +/- tonight.

Kyle Lowry. Once again, the match was played for so little that Miami could have gotten away with no major performance from the base. But in the event of defeat, his stats streak necessarily catches the eye (6 points, 5 assists), and perhaps his injury is the beginning of the explanation.
