Bucks are locked in Chicago

40 points of DeMar DeRozan won’t have much weight in the scale. In Chicago, the Bucks came back to win at the best time, in order to stay in touch with Boston and Philadelphia on the Eastern Conference podium.

Milwaukee made it easy with a good start and a team built around… Brook Lopez. The pivot quickly became popular, particularly the 16-2 post that the Bucks inflicted and concluded with three points from Grayson Allen (10-22). The gap then rose to +18 in the second quarter under the impetus of the Holiday-Middleton-Antikonmo trio and thanks to an overflow from the evening champion (31-49).

DeMar DeRozan’s repeated exploits allowed the locals to return to -12 at the break (46-58) but Milwaukee sprinted after the break with this time 11-3 fueled by 7 points from Brock Lopez (51-69). Once again, the return of the new bulls was calmed by the defending champion’s stepping response, through two 3-point rockets the Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis positions at the end of the third quarter (82-96).

A sufficient gap kept Chicago a good distance until the finish (106-127).

What to remember

– Chicago loser wins. Even if they lost last night and thus relegated to sixth place in the Eastern Conference, the Bulls booked their place in the playoffs, their first since 2017. They could still go and snatch fifth in the final race, which is now held by Toronto.

Weak in front of the strong. As if confirmation was required in another game, the Bulls once again fell against a top team in their conference. She’s starting to do a lot for Chicago, which has won only two out of twenty oppositions against members of the top four in the East and West…

– Giannis Antikonmo is calm. “Greak Freak” didn’t have to scramble for the Bucks’ 49th win of the season. The team’s third top scorer behind Khris Middleton and Brooke Lopez, he played mostly only 24 minutes. A luxury when you see how other stars in the league are currently lashing out to get the best spot possible.

tops/swings

Brooke Lopez. He scores his points this season and a full game he started with the right foot to turn into a man for one night. Effective near the circle (9/14 including 1/4 at 3 points) and free throw (9/9), he was the main architect of the Bucks victory.

pax group. If Giannis Antetokonmo didn’t have to force his talent, it’s also because the Milwaukee group responded, whether it was the Holiday-Matthews-Middleton trio or players who came off the bench like the duo. . Also note that 32 aids have been distributed, a sign of good health!

Nikola Vucevic. A black evening for the pivot who almost missed a shot per minute: scored 7 small points in 3/19 of shots, in 26 minutes of play. In the absence of Zach Lavigne, he was not the expected lieutenant DeMar DeRozan.

⛔ Alex Caruso. The captain/back attacking passes with 0/6 in shooting including 0/5 from 3 throws, even if he is still providing 8 assists.
